Valley Forge, PA – The Greek Language school of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, performed the Greek National Anthem yesterday in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.
Father Peter Thornberg spoke about the historic day and its significance, and Federation Vice-President Stefanos Evangelopoulos congratulated the teacher and students on their fine performance.
Evangelopoulos also reminded the attendees of the importance of remembering those that sacrificed for liberty. The Federation continues to visit area churches and key locations to bring awareness to Greek history.
