The Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley is a prominent organization that serves as an umbrella to over 45 Hellenic-American associations. These associations represent thousands of individuals who share the Greek heritage and culture.
The Federation comprises member church communities, organizations, and societies, all of which are dedicated to upholding Hellenic Ideals. As the central hub of Hellenic-American associations, the Federation plays a crucial role in organizing and harmonizing its members. Furthermore, it cultivates mutual understanding and cultural exchange by establishing relationships with other ethnic groups in the region.
The organization plays a vital role in promoting Philhellenism. It aims to raise awareness and encourage participation in various cultural and social events to spread the essence of Greek culture in the surrounding communities. These events include engaging lectures on various topics related to Greece, enlightening presentations highlighting the significant achievements of Greek civilization, and festivals that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Greece. The Annual Greek Independence Day is an essential event that the organization celebrates with great enthusiasm and fervor to commemorate the country’s liberation from Ottoman rule.
