On Sunday, April 6, 2025, we invite you to join us for one of the most cherished traditions in our community—the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade! We are proud to bring together families, friends, and supporters of Hellenism for a day filled with history, culture, and pride along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

This annual parade is more than just a celebration—it’s a tribute to the heroes of 1821, a showcase of Greek heritage, and a reminder of the values of freedom and unity that continue to inspire us today. Whether you march with us, cheer from the sidelines, or simply come to experience the vibrant traditions of Greece, we welcome you to be part of this unforgettable event!

A Day of Tradition and Celebration

Parade Day Schedule

  • 10:00 AM | Doxology Service
    The day begins with a Doxology service at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral (156 South 8th Street, Philadelphia). This solemn gathering honors the heroes of the Greek Revolution and reflects on the sacrifices made for freedom. Attendees are encouraged to wear business attire in respect for the occasion.
  • 1:00 PM | Parade Line-Up
    Marching groups, cultural organizations, and floats will assemble along Benjamin Franklin Parkway as they prepare for the procession.
  • 2:00 PM | Parade Kickoff
    The parade officially begins at 22nd Street, moving toward 18th Street, where grandstands will provide the best viewing experience.

What to Expect

The Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade is a vibrant display of history, culture, and community. The event will feature:

  • Traditional Greek music and dance performances
  • Elaborate floats showcasing significant moments in Greek history and culture
  • The Presidential Guard of Greece (Evzones) marching in full ceremonial uniform
