Temporary suspension of controls of the military status for Greek male citizens who live abroad
According to an announcement of the Consulate General of Greece, Greeks living abroad, except for deserters, who will travel to Greece to vote in the parliamentary elections on January 25th, 2015, will be exempted from controls of their military status, from 01-12-2015 until 08-02-2015. Prosecution of the above individuals is suspended for this period.
Vasilopita Cutting at Ikarian House
Pennsauken, NJ – Slice after slice of New Years Vasilopita bread was handed out by Rev. Economos Panagiotis Lekkas of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church. Some 65 representatives of various Greek organizations and churches attended the first new year gathering at the Ikarian House, which has become a tradition.
