This year, Philadelphia’s Greek community is celebrating Greek Independence Day with the annual parade on April 17th, 2016.
The parade will step off from at Benjamin Franklin Parkway from Eakins Oval to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The annual celebration of Greek Independence Day in Philadelphia is commemorating the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821.
Greek Independence Day is a national holiday honored annually in Greece on March 25. It coincides with the Greek Orthodox Church’s celebration of the Annunciation to the Theotokos.
